Compassion
Taking the time to slow down and care for yourself is an important part of your healing journey. Having a psychologist to support you through this process, to really tune in and listen to your needs, can provide the safety and support you need to thrive. No matter what the diagnosis or the specific evidence-based therapy we may use in our work together, compassionate attunement always underpins the therapeutic relationship.
Awareness
It’s easy to get stuck in patterns that don’t serve us. Working with a psychologist can help bring awareness to our own strengths and weaknesses, and the cycles and triggers that keep us stuck. Often, we know what’s not working, we’re aware of the problem. Extending that awareness to include the bigger picture can lead to greater personal empowerment and change.
Development
Once we understand the ‘how and why’ of where we are at in our lives and with compassionate self-acceptance, we can begin to develop and change. Using validated, evidence-based therapies and with the support and guidance of an experienced psychologist – growth is possible. Moving from states of mere survival into those of restoration and thriving is at the heart of what we do.
Only through our connectedness to others can we really know and enhance ourselves. And only through working on the self can we begin to enhance our connectedness to others.
